What's the deal? I read the FAQ and still don't understand why I would want it or what reason there is to be picky about who scouts me.

What they mean about "being picky" is that your account will be connected to theirs in a way. Scouting is portrayed as a tree: the person who scouted you is a branch, you're a twig on the branch. If the person who scouted you is "pruned" for theft or other reasons, everything connected to that branch also gets removed from the scouted section (not deleted, but have to be scouted again).

Dont worry about scouting, its a one time thing. Once scouted you never have to worry about it again. Your stuff will permanently appear in the main art portal so.
No worries when it comes to who ever sent you a request! I scouted you, you're good!
